Eastern Tarai

The Eastern Tarai consists of the eastern part of the Tarai Mountain Range in Nepal. The Terai, or plains, of eastern Nepal lie along the Indian border. Much of the land is taken up by rice and jute cultivation, though areas of forest remain in the north where the plains meet the hills.
