North Costa Rica

North Costa Rica, also known as "Región Norte" or "Huetar Norte" is a region located within Costa Rica and borders in the north to Rio San Juan Region of Nicaragua. This region is known for Arenal Volcano, but it has other gems that are not-so-hidden such as Lake Arenal and the Los Angeles Cloud Forest.

La Fortuna de San Carlos is a small town in the north of Costa Rica.

Ciudad Quesada is a city in the North Zone of Costa Rica. It is the capital city of the canton San Carlos in the province of Alajuela.


Los Chiles is a border town in the north of Costa Rica. It's pretty wealthy because of its geographic border situation.

Puerto Viejo de Sarapiquí is an inland town in the province of Heredia, in Costa Rica.
Choose the road less travelled. And remember that the best places to visit are not in the guide.
