In Oahu

The Windward Coast of Oahu has great natural beauty. The two main towns on the Windward side are served by three routes that cross the Koolau Mountain range via tunnels.
The North Shore of Oahu in Hawaii is famous world-wide for its beaches and incredible surf.
The Leeward Coast is a region of the Hawaiian Oahu island. This is the "local" side of the Oahu where haoles and good restaurants are hard to find.
Wai`anae is on the island of Oahu, Hawaii Take the H1 freeway west. As you round the SW corner of the island you will see the Waianae Coast laid out before you, with the expanse of blue ocean to your left.
Hale'iwa is a small beach town on the North Shore of Oahu. It's the most built up of the towns in the region, has some of the better restaurants, and is generally the place to go if you're staying within 1/2 hour or so of here.
Nanakuli is on the west coast of the island of Oahu, Hawaii Take the H1 freeway westwards.
Central Oahu is part of Oahu. It's probably the least interesting of the island's regions, but is a good place to stock up on supplies if you're staying on the North Shore.
