Southeast China

Southeast China has always been outward-looking. Many of China's mariners and traders have come from this region and most overseas Chinese can trace their ancestry to the Southeast.
Guangdong is a province in Southeast China on the border with Hong Kong.

Haikou is the provincial capital of Hainan Province in southern China and is at the north end of the Hainan island.
Fuzhou is the capital of Fujian Province in China. An older romanisation is "Foochow".
Quanzhou is a coastal city just north of Xiamen in Fujian Province in China.
