The best hotel in Israel, beautiful rooms and suites. The pool is amazing, best place for 2-3-4 nights. The price is expensive yet worth it. If you want a nice and relaxing vacation in Israel, this is the best place to stay in.
IF YOU ARE SHOMER SHABBAT BEWARE! First off I want to start off by stating that I actually love the Ritz. It is hands down one of the best hotels in Israel and I have stayed here maybe 10 times in the past four years. Having said that, I just want to ensure that anyone that is shomer Shabbat STAY AWAY from this place if you plan to stay over Shabbat. They have so many issues here I can't even state them all. I've been here maybe four shabbats, and it's basically 50/50 if you will be forced to be mechalel shabbat in this place or not. My last Shabbat stay was the absolute worst and will be the last Shabbat I ever spend here, no doubt about it. Let's start with the rooms. The rooms have electronic systems controlling everything from lights to AC, including closet lights. You need to request the room to go into Shabbat mode from the front desk. They give a paper with a bunch of instructions you are meant to follow in order for Shabbat mode to take effect ( a simple switch would not do for some reason ). I've had trouble with this in the past so before Shabbat I ask the front desk to be sure it's done. They assured me it will work. I come up after shul and see the lights I left on are all off, as is the AC. In addition, Shabbat mode isn't activated so I know I can't open ANY of the clothing cabinets now. So I have to go to the front desk about this , only the Shabbat elevator doesn't work so it's always by stairs ( more on this below ). They apologize of course and said they will take care of it right away. I go have dinner then before going up I confirm with the front desk that it was done. They assured me it was so I made the trek upstairs. Of course I get to the room and it's the same exact condition. At this point me and my family are too tired to go down so we sleep with no lights and no AC. In the morning I tell them again and again they assure me it will be fixed. This goes on a few more times through Shabbat. Needless to say they never figured it out. They even sent the main technician to our room cause he didn't believe us and he couldn't figure it out himself! The system is waaaay too complicated and this hotel has no handle on it. Whether you will be a prisoner of your room or not is purely up to chance! As if that wasn't bad enough the Shabbat elevator would randomly go in and out of Shabbat mode as well. We would wait for it to come, get in and then just wait and wait and it simply randomly would not work. Unfortunately we were with two little kids in strollers so we were now prisoners to the elevators and couldn't go anywhere! We complained about this, they were of course sorry to hear and would fix it right away. It randomly worked ( or didn't ) throughout the remainder of Shabbat. This was extremely frustrating as we couldn't reliably go anywhere given our stroller situation. They also have a separate one floor elevator to go down to the main entrance. We went out for a walk an hour and a half before Shabbat ended, this elevator seemed to work. We returned 45 minutes before Shabbat ended and the elevator was no longer in Shabbat mode! Someone in their great wisdom must have decided that it's "close enough" I also didn't mention that thought this entire ordeal the only people we were able to interact with were Israeli Jews, so just telling them these issues caused them to be mechalel shabbat. All in all I must have stayed 90 days or so I'm this hotel in four years. Again, I do love it, but I would NEVER come here on Shabbat again, and I would urge anyone who cares about keeping Shabbat to STAY AWAY!!
Coming from Los Angeles, we are used to be pampered. This is something rare in Israel, a country that is beautiful but usually more rough. There are a handful of properties that understand service. We had high expectations at The Ritz-Carlton Herzliya and were not disappointed. We stayed during Passover and spent a shabbat there. The property is beautiful, located right in the middle of the Marina and next to the beach. The rooms are great and very spacious and the service is the best we have seen in Israel. Ned Capeleris, the General Manager is very personable and friendly. He pays attention to every details and goes an extra length to ensure his guests are pleased. The staff was amazing. Notably, Jonathan Chocron gave us a warm welcome and made sure we had the best stay. Our Kids had the great time at the Kids club. Also appreciated that they don't nickel & dime with the service they provide you, parking was free, no extra charge for the kids club, lots of amenities to make us feel welcome. It was a great experience. We could relax and feel at home. We will certainly be back. A BIG thank you for taking such good care of us. Marc
The view is unreal with amazing staff that are so nice the hotel is beautiful breakfast and the restaurant is delicious Definitely recommended
Service could have been better as well as windows that blocked sound from the marina, otherwise nice place to stay.
