Eastern Tarai

The Eastern Tarai consists of the eastern part of the Tarai Mountain Range in Nepal. The Terai, or plains, of eastern Nepal lie along the Indian border.
Popular destinations: Janakpur, Kakarbhitta and Birgunj
Janakpur is a major city of religious and historical importance situated in the Eastern Terai region of Nepal.
Kakarbhitta is a city in Eastern Tarai. Kakarbhitta is a small town on the border of Nepal and India, which can be used by foreigners to cross the border.
Birgunj is a city in Parsa district, Nepal. The city is located on the borders with the Indian state of Bihar, and is a major point of entry for goods coming from India and also the port of Kolkata.
Dharan is a city in Sunsari district, eastern Nepal.
Biratnagar is a sub-metropolitan municipality and the second largest city of Nepal.
Sri Antu is a hill station best known as a point to observe sunrise.
Birtamod is a city in Eastern Tarai in Nepal. If you have stop in Jhapa district, Birtamod is your best bet.
Choose the road less travelled. And remember that the best places to visit are not in the guide.
