Bunkyō is in Tokyo, north of the Imperial Palace. The name means roughly "Capital of Culture" and, indeed, it's best known as the home of the sprawling University of Tokyo and a series of aristocratic parks and villas. The top local attractions are Koishikawa Kōrakuen Garden (小石川後楽園) and Rikugien Gardens (六義園). Recommended hotels include Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo in Tokyo and Hotel Niwa Tokyo in Chiyoda-ku.
